You Blog, but is anyone care? (Web worker daily)

I have noticed that bloggers tend to fall into two camps: the Gropers, who want to know everything and constantly monitor Analytics for their positions. and people who don't really worry about who reads their positions and rarely check analytics. For some time, I was one of these checked constantly analytical fixated people, but lately I've been occupied, and I find myself descend into a State where I can rarely remember to search for.

As we approach the end of the year, it is a good opportunity to take a step and look at some of the data to see which of your blog posts get attention and those who have been generally ignored. You can do much more to take a look at your standard analysis package kick. Here are some tools and tips to give you a deeper look at the question of whether people are attention to your blog posts.

A standard analysis, such as Google Analytics, Kit is a great start, but make sure you dive deeper that just check on the simple chart showing how many people visited your blog. Here are a few of the things I love to watch:

Most web analytic tracking hits using a snippet of code on your page in the order. Feed readers don't perform these small pieces of code, so you also need to use a tool for animal feed, such as FeedBurner, for example. It gives you a better idea on how many people read your blog with a feed reader, and you'll have access to information, as the number of people considered to be a position in your diet if they have clicked on links, etc.

I get a very different picture of those who have read my power of those who visit my blog. For example, every two weeks, I'm a short post on my personal blog with links to blog posts I wrote elsewhere. These blog posts get almost no web traffic and are rarely posted to Twitter, but they get a lot of views in my food and people often click on the links to my other blog posts. You may be surprised by what your data feed differ from other your analysis.

PostRank is a small nifty tool that looks in which posts your blog the most attention on a wide variety of social networks. You can see how many people posted your content, or it commented on Twitter, Google's Buzz and dozens of other social media sites.  It also provides each of your posts a score between 1 and 10, which is an excellent way to see a blow of eye, your blog posts were interesting enough for people to want to share.

There are a few tools that make it easy to see that your blog posts receive attention on Twitter. If you shorten your links with a tool like bit.ly which has integrated analysis, you can see how many people clicked on the link and it retweeted. BackTweets is another great service as Twitter for a URL searches and finds links shortened to this URL, regardless of whether that shorten the link and that they used. It is an excellent way to see when others are posting links to your blog posts.

Google Blog Search also has a little nifty feature that allows you to see the blogs who have a link to your blog just by doing something like this into the search box:

You can view posts a link to a website, blog or section of your blog - basically, everything that you can define a URL. You can then sort the results by relevance or date and the same filter by certain dates or deadlines, as most of Google searches.

Applicants have ceased filing requests for extended State paper benefits after 4 December must call the top Canada service for instructions on how to deposit.


Created in 2008, the EUC program provides up to 53 weeks of additional benefits for persons who have exhausted the maximum of 26 weeks of benefits from the State. The resumption of federal funding also allows Pennsylvanians benefit again from up to 20 weeks of State extended benefits.


CUF payable last week is the week ending 9 June 2012.

Overloading your curriculum vitae (CNN - Ask Annie)

A wealth of experience is an asset, but packing your curriculum vitae with too many jobs is usually a mistake.

Dear Annie: I was pleased to read your article 8 December market slightly better work for persons over 55 years of age and my own experience confirms recently experience returns to mode with employers: after work more than a year, at the age of 57 years, I have received three interviews during the month.

My question concerns my curriculum vitae. In my career for 40 years now, I have had many different jobs who taught me a wide variety of skills, so I have all put on my resume. A friend me is distracting, so I should omit most jobs, I am busy and list only those which relate more directly to what position I am currently applied for. -Is this correct? Also, what should my resume say over short periods during which I've been between jobs or (more recently) took a "survival job" just to pay the Bills? -Sam Cincinnati

Mr Sam: friend gives you wise counsel. "A common mistake people make when their curriculum vitae is packed with too many jobs, in the hope of dazzling future employers with their wealth of experience," explains Evelyn El Salvador professional writer resume and career coach with useful book, repeats step by step: generate a unique summary in 10 easy steps is now in its second edition.

Unfortunately, this tactic rarely works. "If you include not synchronized with your target job roles, is a red flag for employers, or muddy up your curriculum vitae with too much experience, show several jobs were for short periods of time" says El Salvador. Update: According to a disclosed presentation, Yahoo expects close Delicious. Which is bad news for users of popular social bookmarking tool, but fortunately, there are several excellent interesting to study alternatives. While none of them are an alternative type-for-like exact for Delicious (and none of them can match the effect of the Delicious big SkypeOut network sharing links with one another), they offer a selection of useful bookmarks functionality:

U.S. Department of Labor releases 3 new international reports of child labour and forced labour (prnewswire.com)

WASHINGTON, December 15, 2010/PRNewswire-USNewswire /- Labour Minister Hilda l. Solis today announced the launch of three reports on child labour or forced work hand in the world.  Secretary Solis was joined by Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa at the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Labor in unveiling reports.


"We consider the Elimination of the worst forms of child labour is a matter of urgency", said Secretary Solis.  "We hope that these reports will help Governments in the world to take effective next steps to eliminating the exploitation of children."  No human being should work in conditions of involuntary servitude hand of work or of a debt or be forced to work under the fear of being punished.  Shines light on these issues is a first step towards the motivation of Governments, the private sector and citizens concerned to take measures to put an end to the intolerable violations which have no place in our modern world.


Reports have been prepared by the Bureau International du travail, also known under the name of Lila, based on data collected U.S. embassies, foreign Governments, international and non-governmental organizations, technical assistance and research projects on the ground, academia and Media Department.


Conclusions on forms of child labour is a report commissioned by the trade and commerce Act 2000 provides information about the efforts of some countries benefiting from the U.S. to eliminate the worst forms of child labour.  This year's report introduces a new format to highlight the main findings related to each Government's efforts and includes specific suggestions for actions that would fight against these problems.


Lila has also published an update its list of goods produced by child or forced labour required by the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2005.  The update adds six new products and 12 new countries for a total of 128 goods from 70 affiliated countries has reason to believe are produced by the labour of children or the two forced labour in violation of international standards.


In addition, Lila has published a proposal for revision of the current list of the product by forcé products or conservative children under order 13126 1999 work.  Revision deletes a product and adds another, maintain a total of 29 products from 21 countries.  These proposals for amendments to executive order list will be available for a period of public comment for 60 days from December 16.


At the end of 2010, Lila funded more than 740 million dollars in programs to help more than 80 countries to combat the worst forms of child labour.  The Agency conducts research on and makes international political economic, trade and work in collaboration with other government agencies of the United States hand and provides international technical assistance in support of U.S. goals of hand - foreign labour policy.

Co-Creation: the key to better innovation (Forbes)

Co-creation is the idea of the time. Everywhere where I'm going to recently the desire to get closer to customers, stakeholders and suppliers is at the Centre of strategic planning. I've seen this House with insistence by recently in driving strategic innovation agenda, a collaborative project between my school, IMD and Sloan School of management of MIT, where nearly 60 innovation Chief officers gathered for a week discussing trends in innovation. They came from all types of industries, from manufacturing to services, the field of science and Government worldwide.

What is remarkable in all this, it is that not so long ago that these same professionals would probably concerned with innovation that occurred in their organizations, things that they could legitimately control. After all, this is how innovation has been made for most of recorded history. For decades, school of education-oriented innovation on creating filters more effective to prevent the continuation of the ideas that lead to business success. Today, it is almost the reverse. We can manage very nicely to our organizations, but we need to work more efficiently to their doing outside, so that we can shorten the time and the distance between those who have the next good ideas and those who can benefit from. Rather than be concerned about filtering ideas, we are eager to get more and better ideas. We filter later.

Cloud-based note-taking applications are multiplying. Newcomer catch joined Evernote Springpad, paprika and Simplenote in this space. Like many of my colleagues WWD, I use Evernote. There are a number of other charges followed apps out there, but most have many more features that I need or have the patience to learn how to use: mobile app ProOnGo (free step) synchronizes with a Web site, has a player receiving and exports to QuickBooks. (Free) Expensify also export QuickBooks and can be used to track the time and mileage. (Free) PageOnce enables global monitoring of all expenditure and invoices and offers alerts and notifications. EasyMoney (Android-only, free step) can also be used to track expenses and bills and allows you to enter more specific information for each transaction. Expenditure (iPhone only, not free) has a nice interface, but it does not synchronize or graphics. SplashMoney (free step) can connect to your bank account and also has a version of Office.

Toshl is available for the iPhone, Android, Nokia Maemo and Symbian. The company plans to add more features little by little, but I hope they abandon their less-is-more approach.

For 25 years, China has relied on its low-cost manufacturing sector to generate an export boom. Rapid urbanization has produced a ready supply of hand of cheap work as workers migrated from rural agricultural manufacturing facilities in burgeoning cities. The Government has adopted policies pro-trade, establishing tax havens who became the Chinese manufacturing centre. Municipal governments were also involved in attracting investment, by providing incentives generous including land cheap or even free of charge. Each of these factors helped and supported by the Chinese Government's decision to maintain an artificially low value for its currency, the renminbi.

These policies have helped to keep a lid on labour costs (and the export price), allowing to China becoming the Assembly line in the world. American companies such as Apple (AAPL - news - people), Dell (DELL - news - people) and Hewlett-Packard (HPQ - news - people) outsourced contract manufacturers such as Foxconn, technology that is passed to employ an estimated 800,000 workers.

In recent years, however, contract labour of China has undergone some fairly radical structural changes. In 2008, has adopted a new law, strongly pro-labor substantially raised the cost of maintaining and building a worker. Many municipal governments have also increased the minimum wage levels in an attempt to reduce income disparities and enhancing social stability. New research from EBRI: seniority of employment for workers United States rising slightly, now just over 5 years (prnewswire.com)

WASHINGTON, December 13, 2010/PRNewswire-USNewswire /-the median duration of workers to full-time employment ticked up slightly by 2010, over just five years, continues a slow increase in the duration of employment which began in 2004, according to a new report by the (EBRI) nonpartisan employee benefit Research Institute.


However, parsing EBRI shows there are long-term trends significantly different depending on the type of worker. For example, duration of employment for men has declined since 1983, whereas the mandate of women has increased in this period, to the point where times-large gap between the sexes in the duration of employment was almost closed. Because the mandate of women has increased while the mandate of the men decreased, the overall rate of job tenure has been relatively stable.


EBRI found that older workers appear to be stay in their jobs longer. But overall, the results show that over the past three decades American labour market has always been a high level of turnover - and will probably be in the future.


"For the large majority of American workers with so-called 'career job' has never exist, and they certainly exist today," said Craig Copeland, Associate Senior Research EBRI and author of the study. "A distinct minority workers spent never their entire career to one employer."


The results are published in the notes of EBRI December, "Job Tenure, 1983-2010" and are based on the latest data from the current population of the u.s. Census Bureau survey. The full report is online on the website of the EBRI at the www.ebri.org

All workers: Among all salaries and wages workers aged 25 years or more, the median job tenure was 5.2 years 2010, until slightly of the last survey in 2008 and a modest increase in 5.0 years in 1983. (The median is the midpoint, with half above and below half).Gender long-term trends: Closer look at long-term trends shows that the length of median employment for men fell from 5.9 years in 1983 to 5.1 in 2010. However, duration of employment for women has increased from 4.2 years 1983 to 5.1 in 2010. Overall, growth in the occupation of women offset the decline in male workers during the period. Older workers: Older workers of males and females have also been increases in median seniority.  For example, the mandate of male aged 55 to 64 rose from 9.5 years during the years 2006 to 10.4 in 2010. Ages of 55 women given the mandate of the greatest increase on a longer time, series of 7.8 years 1963 to 9.7 in 2010.Private and public sector: for workers in the private sector, the median duration held relatively stable series, about three years and a half and follows one then tend to rise, reaching 4.0 years by 2010.  Among workers in the public sector, median seniority reaches 7.1 years by 2010. Duration of the employment sector public is currently about 80 per cent higher than in the private sector. Copeland has noted that, with unemployment remains high in 2009 and 2010, the increase in median levels indicates that workers whose jobs are suspended on the more - especially at a time where unemployed is ill find one.


"It seems that workers who have jobs are mostly stay and unemployed persons is not likely to begin their" says Copeland.


Copeland noted that tenure results indicate that workers are likely to continue to change jobs frequently in the future, just as they did in the past in the past. This has a number of important consequences, he added: traditional systems have limited benefits for workers in the short term, which makes it even more important than workers who participate in a 401 (k) - type plan retain their retirement savings when they change jobs.
