DCA two officials appointed to the Federal salary Council (prnewswire.com)

Influential panel advises the White House on federal pay issues


WASHINGTON, December 15, 2010/PRNewswire-USNewswire /-President Obama has appointed two American Federation of government staff representatives in the Council Federal salary, which advises the White House and the Federal Executive power on remuneration issues.


David Cox, national Secretary-Treasurer and Jacqueline Simon, Director of public policy, will represent the DCA on the Panel of nine people. DCA is the only employee to have two members of the Board, reflecting the unique role of DCA as the largest Union of federal public servant.


Federal salary Council established under Title 5 of the code of the United States provides executive recommendations on the locality pay program that was created in 1990 to help to bridge the gap compensation among federal employees and the private sector.

"Federal earn much less on average than their counterparts in the private sector-24% less, according to the latest data from the Government." David Cox has been national Secretary-Treasurer of the DCA since 2006, winning re-election by members of the DCA in 2009. Previously, Cox was first Executive Vice President of the National Council of business Veterans Affairs DCA over 11 and 18 years as President of 1738 local. He has also served as co-Chair of the National Council Partnership VA and currently is vice co-Chair of the AFL-CIO Union Veterans Council.


Jacqueline Simon is Director of the public policy of the DCA. In this role, she is expert-resident of the DCA on a wide range of issues related to the Federal Government, especially federal wages and benefits. Prior to joining DCA, Simon was an economist at the economic policy Institute and an economist with the AFL-CIO. It has an ABD in economics from American University.


The American Federation of Government (DCA) employees is the largest federal employee Union representing 600 000 workers in the Federal Government and the Government of the district of Columbia.
